Favorite pieces of the week

Updated: Nov 18, 2018

So i thought it would be a good idea to blog about my favorite pieces and try to do it every week.

I will have the opportunity to describe and tell you the design behind each piece. This week i have chosen blue pieces, because blue is actually my favorite color. Even though i don't use it a lot, but with time you will see more of blue in my collections. Here below are my picks for this week.

The bag is called "Valkyrja" and it is one of my first creation and it means a lot to me. It is the symbol of the beginning of my brand, Tinganelli Reykjavík.

This bag is a big clutch / evening bag handmade from first class Italian leather.

The colors remind my of the cold winter, blue for the all of our ice cold water, white for the snow and black for the darkest period of the year. I love playing with contrast and shapes, as you can see on these pieces above. All of them have contrast and some different shapes.

The shoes "Lunda" are my first "decolté" shoes and i'm really happy with the outcome. I got the shape on the side of the shoe from our cute puffins.

Their beak has these amazing colors (orange, blue, white, black) and shape of a triangle that inspired me to make something and I made "Lunda". They come in two variety black and multi color. You can see that the multi colored one has the same colors as the beak, pretty amazing, right?.

Last but not least the silk scarf "Jökla". It is a little bit obvious where the inspiration comes from, the glaciers. I mean how can I not been inspired by something so powerful and breathtaking?

The silk, wool and velvet is from Italy, i just love how the Italians do it.

If you are wondering ALL my design is Icelandic and you can shop my products here in our online store.

Until next time, thank you for reading my blog.
